Rapid prototyping to empower employees

WNS is a leading business process outsourcing company based in Mumbai, India, with 60 delivery centres worldwide. The company helps enact business transformation across a range of industries, including procurement and banking.

Kulashekharan Srinivasa Ragavan, Director, Procurement Product Management & Digital Transformation Leader of WNS, says that: 'Our choice of going to a low-code technology was natural, I would say. We were previously investing a significant amount of time building the product from ground up. This included spending time building workflow management and integration, which are all needed, but essentially just catch-up. What you accomplish on top of those things is the real product; something potentially domain-led that brings value. We get from zero to that value much faster with low-code - that's primarily been our driver for adopting low-code technology.'

By partnering with Plant an App, the WNS team could build applications and integrations faster than ever, meaning they could focus on delivering domain-led business value to their customers.

WNS
  • Challenge:
    • WNS needed additional IT talent to create more solutions, and therefore looked at ways of expanding their 300-strong team based across India and Romania. After a consultation with Plant an App however, they concluded that it was in fact their tools which needed to change.
  • Requirements:
    • Wishing to expand their offering of digital solutions, WNS required the right technology to empower their employees. The ideal platform would allow for rapid prototyping, removing the back and forth associated with traditional development. Furthermore, it would require the right level of integration and scalability to merge with existing systems and data.
  • Solution:
    • Using the Plant an App development platform, the WNS team could use low-code to rapidly prototype new solutions, fast-tracking the discovery to execution stages of a product. They could also employ APIs to bring together multiple data points from different systems - whether they be old or new - and provide an aggregated view. This data could then give users actionable business information, and proactively trigger other processes. Where this level of integration would have once been highly technical and time-consuming to orchestrate, low-code automation streamlined the entire process.
